Street sign in Pollone, Italy
Sorry! It is too late to participate in the 2009 Pier Giorgio Pilgrimage but start planning now to join us next year. Note that in 2010, the Shroud of Turin is expected to be on display. It is located in the same cathedral where the remains of Blessed Pier Giorgio are venerated.
This trip is customized for people who love Pier Giorgio and want to deepen their faith by imitating his example. During the trip, you will delve into the spirituality of Pier Giorgio. You will learn about the saints who inspired him, walk where he walked, pray where he prayed, climb one of his beloved mountains, visit his tomb, maybe even meet members of his family!
The 2009 pilgrimage departs the U.S. on June 26th and arrives in Rome just in time to take advantage of the plenary indulgence being offered during the special Jubilee Year of Saint Paul. From Rome, the group will make its way to the Frassati villa in Pollone where it will celebrate Pier Giorgio's Fourth of July feast day! Along the way, there will be stops in Rome, Siena, Florence, Bologna and Turin. In addition to an Italian guide in the major cities, the group will be accompanied by Christine Wohar, executive director of FrassatiUSA, who has spent extended time with the Frassati family since 2006. Mass and other spiritual opportunities will be offered daily by Fr. Gary Kaiser, a priest whose vocation was inspired by Pier Giorgio. All arrangements are being handled by Regina Tours.
